Lewis Moody Q&A
Lewis Moody MBE; rugby player extraordinaire, is under 30 years old and has already won 2 European cups with Leicester, and a World Cup for England. We had a chat to find out what games he plays on the tour bus…
So, are you much of a gamer?
Sure. I play games like Medal of Honour, and when I was on the Lions Tour I played a lot of Ricky Hatton; a boxing game. I ended up playing against a couple of other team-mates, but mainly Julian White for most of the trip, infuriating him ‘cos I pounded him most times.
Neither of us had played it before so we both picked it up on the same day, but he was rubbish - I don’t think he’s ever touched a computer in his life. They’re the two main ones that I play, but I’ve also got games like Driver and GTA.
What do you think of Rugby videogames then?
I’ve got a rugby one as well, so played it quite a bit. One of my mates is Jordan Murphy, so we played a couple of games with ourselves in it, and then we got bored and it got put on the back shelf.
I think the rugby games definitely aren’t that realistic; I suppose you can’t beat the real thing, but I do think they could make it a bit more realistic. Sometimes with the rugby games it seems they’re done because of events; the World Cup etc. It’s almost half hearted at times. But I think the American football games like ‘Madden are always pretty good, the latest ‘Madden game is awesome; with graphics and detail that’s amazing. If they could do the same detail with the rugby games I think it would be a lot more entertaining.
Well let’s hope they take that on board. Finally, what are you most looking forward to in 2006?
Getting married I suppose; I’m getting married this summer. Playing more than 20 games for my club would be nice as well!
